Dunsmuir in the Movies (and on TV)
The Dunsmuir Estate has been the scene of numerous big-screen
productions. Here are a few...
So I Married an Axe Murderer (1993)
A San Francisco poet who fears commitment has a girlfriend
who he suspects may not be who she appears. Although obviously
altered, the Dunsmuir Estate was featured prominently as
the honeymoon destination.
A View to a Kill (1985)
Bond must stop a microchip industrialist from blowing up
Silicon Valley and cornering the market. With some great
villains (Walken & Jones) and a so so leading lady (Roberts),
this Bond may leave some shaken, while others stirred.

Phantasm (1979)
A young boy and his friends face off against a mysterious
grave-robber known only as the "Tall Man."

True Crime (1999)
An over-the-hill journalist attempts to uncover the evidence
that can prove a death row inmate's innocence just hours
before his execution.
Burnt Offerings (1976)
A
family of vacationers rents a sprawling mansion for the
summer and soon discovers that all is not as it should be.
Among other equally strange things, dead plants come back
to life, and the swimming pool kills bathers.
Gloria (1999)
Sharon Stone stars as a mobster's tough ex-mistress who
befriends a boy left orphaned by a murderous gunman.
